Community rules

A few shared norms keep The Collective useful and safe for everyone.

  1. 1

    Be respectful

Treat every member as a professional peer. Disagree with ideas, not people. No harassment, discrimination, personal attacks or unwanted contact.

  2. 2

    Ask constructive questions

Share enough context for others to help: what you've tried, what you're aiming for and any constraints. Answers come from volunteers — be patient and thank people who help. No answer is guaranteed.

  3. 3

    No promotion or spam

Don't post unsolicited advertising, recruitment drives, referral links or repeated self-promotion. Sharing a genuinely relevant resource is welcome when it helps the conversation.

  4. 4

    Respect confidentiality

What members share in mentorships, private circles and help requests stays there. Never share another member's personal details, screenshots of private conversations or employer-confidential information.

  5. 5

    Self-declared expertise

Profiles and mentor offerings are written by members themselves and are not verified unless clearly stated. Use your own judgement — advice here is not professional, legal, medical or financial advice.

  6. 6

    How to report a concern

Use the flag on any post, comment or profile to report it to the moderators. For anything sensitive or about your own account, use Help & support to send a private message to the administrators. Moderators may hide content or suspend accounts that break these rules.

Members can send a private message to the administrators from Help & support after signing in.
